Palm Beach Gardens Invisalign®
Dr. Quasha’s office offers Palm Beach Gardens Invisalign® to create beautiful smiles. Metal braces are no longer the only way to straighten teeth. These invisible aligners work even more reliable than the old-fashioned methods and yet no metal or wire brackets are required.
Invisalign® is an orthodontic treatment approved by the FDA that is a virtually invisible method to straighten your teeth without conventional metal braces. With Invisalign®, a custom-molded set of transparent, removable aligners will progressively reposition your teeth. You can simply remove the aligners before eating, brushing, flossing, or special occasions. This technology is more comfortable and convenient than traditional braces. Patients do not experience the mouth abrasions caused by metal and wires, and Invisalign® aligners are easy to clean. Adjustment appointments aren’t necessary, either.
What Does Invisalign Treat?
Invisalign was created as an orthodontic treatment for both teenagers and adults wishing to straighten their teeth without hindering their mature appearance. The following is a list of treatable dental issues that Invisalign can correct:
Invisalign can correct problems associated with spaced teeth. This usually occurs due to abnormal growth of the jaw bone. It can also be caused by missing teeth and the remaining teeth shifting due to the extra space. Spaced teeth can lead to other oral health problems such as the increased risk of gum disease.
Crossbite is when both the upper and lower jaws are both misaligned. It causes one or more upper teeth to bite on the inside of the lower teeth and can happen on both the front and the sides of the mouth. This can potentially lead to abnormal tooth wear and chipping, and periodontal problems including gum disease and bone loss.
Overly Crowded Teeth
When there is a lack of room in the mouth for all of your teeth to fit normally crowding of teeth occurs. This is important to get treated because overly crowded teeth can worsen over time and lead to tooth decay and an increased chance of gum disease.
Overbite occurs when the upper teeth bite over the lower teeth. This can be caused by genetics, poor oral health habits, or overdevelopment of the bone that supports the teeth. Left untreated, it can lead to gum disease and chipped or fractured front teeth. For more information on Invisalign or to schedule an appointment, please contact our office today!
Underbite is when the lower teeth protrude past the front teeth. It is commonly caused by undergrowth of the upper jaw, overgrowth of the lower jaw, or both.
How Does Invisalign® Work?
First, we use 3-D computer imaging to design a comprehensive dental treatment plan. This allows you to preview the final positioning of your teeth before you start treatment. Yes, you will see your future smile before treatment begins. Then a lab will create a series of aligners to reposition your teeth over one to two years. You’ll change aligners every two weeks until your smile is straight and beautiful. Typically, you will visit us every six weeks for progress reports.
